Ke “Mico” Miao, L.Ac., NCCAOM Diplomate

Acupuncturist in Ardsley, NY

Ke “Mico” Miao’s path into medicine is a story of dedication, resilience, and a deep belief in the body’s innate ability to heal. A Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM), she is uniquely trained in both Eastern and Western medicine, holding dual credentials as a Physician in China and a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in New York.

From an early age, Mico was guided by a philosophy that would ultimately shape her life’s work: “Western medicine treats the symptoms; Chinese medicine treats the root.” For her, this principle is more than a medical concept—it is a way of understanding the body, health, and the journey back to balance.

Her medical training began at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she completed eight years of rigorous education in integrated Chinese and Western medicine. She then went on to practice as a physician in China for five years, treating patients with a wide range of health conditions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mico served in a hospital setting on the front lines, caring for patients during one of the most demanding times in modern healthcare. That experience strengthened her belief in resilience, prevention, and the power of supporting the body’s natural defenses.

Mico views the human body not as fragile, but as a vast reservoir of untapped healing energy. In her perspective, illness often arises not because an external force is overwhelming, but because the body’s internal vitality has become blocked or depleted. Through acupuncture and Chinese medicine, she works to restore the smooth flow of Qi, allowing the body’s natural healing capacity to awaken.

Since relocating to the United States in 2022, Mico has continued her mission of helping patients restore balance and vitality. Her clinical focus includes chronic pain, menstrual irregularities, perimenopausal hormonal imbalances, digestive concerns, weight management, anxiety, insomnia, and post-operative recovery. Patients appreciate her thoughtful approach, careful listening, and commitment to addressing the root cause of their health concerns.

For Mico, the most meaningful moment in practice is simple: hearing a patient say, “I feel significantly better.” That transformation is what inspires her work every day.

Outside the clinic, she maintains her own wellness through the practices she believes in. Mico enjoys Tai Chi and Baduanjin, traditional exercises that cultivate the smooth circulation of Qi throughout the body. Known for her optimistic and warm spirit, she finds inspiration in nature, appreciates beauty in everyday life, and enjoys the quiet companionship of her two cats.
